Holosun’s New Dot: Direct Mount on MOS Glocks
I’ve avoided the Holosun for all the familiar reasons for a long time. I can’t avoid them any longer and don’t want to ignore them either.
Some of the other players need to pay attention.
The Holosun SCS or Solar Charging Sight is a direct attachment optic (read no mounting plates or extra layers to fail or stick up high on the gun) for the Glock® MOS® systems.
This lower height allows for standard-height iron sights for a BUIS system. It’s a total redo of how things are done. The SCS reimagines Holosun’s Solar Failsafe system as a primary power source. The internal, rechargeable battery utilizes integrated solar cells to maintain 5,000 hours of run time (on a mid-level brightness setting). Your battery will last for months at a time and given occasional bright light, will recharge itself.
The SCS offers Holosun’s Multi-Reticle System (MRS) displaying a 32MOA Circle or a 2MOA dot or both.
Shooting this optic on Range Day at SHOT Show 2022 was a pleasure. It was installed on a stock Glock model 34 MOS pistol.
The presentation height was great and the green dot on the model tried was crisp and easy to see in both bright light and when in the dark shadows looking out into bright light. The multiple location for light sensing seems to make a huge difference and I look forward to trying this in low light settings with flashlights and weapon mounted lights.
SCS (Solar Charging Sight) is a direct attachment optic for Glock MOS systems offering the lowest profile for use with standard-height iron sights.
