The KPOS Pathfinder – Make Your Glock a PDW
The best thing about the Glock series of handguns is their massive aftermarket. The aftermarket is enormous and you can do almost anything with a Glock. This includes turning it into a Personal Defense Weapon. The KPOS Pathfinder allows you to combine your Glock with a conversion kit that makes it easier to handle in situations more concurrent with PDW tasks. I already know the one big question a lot of you have? Why exactly would you purchase a KPOS Pathfinder rather than a dedicated PCC?
First, you can use your base model Glock, and any upgrades you’ve attached to them. This includes an improved trigger, magazine release, slide lock, as well as grip mods and other fun stuff. Not only is it nice to have all of these upgrades in your PDW it also reduces training time. There is less time required to learn how to effectively employ the weapon when you already used to it as a handgun. To be clear it’s still a handgun by law. The Pathfinder does not have a stock, in fact, it just has an AR type tube. I attached an SBL pistol brace from SB Tactical to the kit and haven’t looked back.
Let’s not forget that this gets around some bans in certain states where it’s hard to buy similar weapons.

Inside the KPOS Pathfinder
What does the KPOS Pathfinder offer you as a PDW and as an improvement to a standard handgun? Well with a pistol brace it allows you to stabilize the weapon beyond what you could do with a pistol. This increases your effective range and allows you to take shots out to 100 yards with ease on man-sized targets. Aiding in your accuracy and precision is also the fact you have a robust set of sights and an increased sight radius.
These sights are very AR like and quite easy to adjust to ensure you can take precise shots. Past that you have a very easy ability to attach an optic to this kit. You can toss on a red dot sight and even a magnifier to increase your speed and range. Speaking of attaching accessories don’t forget you can attach full-size lights and lasers to the Picatinny rails on the side of the KPOS Pathfinder.
Besides accessorizing and accuracy you can handle this weapon with two hands very easily. This means you can position a hand forward of your pistol grip and hold the weapon steady. This makes it easier for you to fire rapidly and to control the weapon when firing rapidly. The KPOS Pathfinder isn’t heavy but adds substantial weight to the gun and this also aids in recoil mitigation.
Overall, the Pathfinder makes your handgun feel and handle more like a PDW than a handgun. It’s easier to fire in every way imaginable.
What about the Quality?
Now a Glock is a very reliable weapon, one of the most reliable on the market, does the KPOS PAthfinder compliment this reliability? It would appear so. After over a year the KPOS Pathfinder has held up magnificently. It’s made almost entirely from metal and in many ways is overbuilt. The kit locks the Glock into place with significant force and it doesn’t move at all. Installing the gun is quick and easy and requires just a few moving parts. As a side note, this kit will not work with a Polymer 80 Glock.
The KPOS Pathfinder’s tube folds to the sie for a more compact package and it’s another solid piece of work. The brace folds with ease and its smooth and reliable. The KPOS Pathfinder is a very well made piece of gear overall and it will last for some time.
Range Time
The biggest reason to own a KPOS Pathfinder is the fact its a ton of fun to shoot with. 9mm is cheap enough ammo and the combination of Glock and KPOS are an excellent one. The KPOS has a very wide ejection port and this ensures round eject cleanly and does not cause malfunctions of any type. The AR 15 style charging handle makes it easy to manipulate the weapon and reinforces the same training I have with my AR 15.
Toss in some extended magazines and you have one helluva fun PDW style gun. The KPOS Pathfinder is an excellent tool for both practical self-defense and just for fun and range time. It’s not for everyone, but it is an outstanding design and a very well made piece of kit. Check it out here.
