X2 Dev Group Releases Trident Barrels for Builders

Boise, ID (October 2024) – The same barrel technology at the heart of the incredible AR-X Lightfighter rifles are now available separately for agencies and hobbyists looking to get the most out of their AR.

The AR-X Lightfighter rifle is known by those fortunate enough to handle one for its quick handling, accuracy, and consistent performance even in the most demanding of conditions. A big part of that rifle’s recipe is the Trident barrel.

Previously shooters had to decide between weight savings and predictable enduring performance:

A heavyweight barrel for sustainable accuracy, but handling and portability suffers.
A lightweight barrel for quick handling, but suffer shot dispersion as the barrel heats up.
An expensive carbon fiber barrel that you hope doesn’t delaminate after sustained strings of rapid fire.
This dilemna has been solved with the Trident barrel, offering incredible accuracy potential, superior heat dispersion, and rigidity, all while weighing less than leading carbon fiber options.

Save yourself the time and money of building multiple uppers. With the Trident barrel one upper can handle multiple roles.

Trident Barrel Features and Specifications:

  • Sub-MOA Guarantee with quality ammunition.
  • Extreme rigidity ensures consistency and minimal POI shift when mounting suppressors.
  • Specially timed flutes act as opposing I-beams, blending structural integrity with reduced mass and maintaining optimal barrel harmonics
  • Light Weight: Lighter than leading carbon fiber barrels and without the risk of delamination.
  • Nitrided for corrosion resistance and improved barrel life. Unlike barrel coatings, nitride impregnates the steel and does not independently wear with use.
  • Rigorous quality control measures ensure each unit undergoes thorough inspection and guarantees adherence to high standards of craftsmanship and performance reliability.
  • Optimized Heat Profile: Consistent group dispersion up through 473 degrees Fahrenheit. Heat is evenly distributed along the barrel to reduce heat soak and stress. Combined with enhanced rigidity, this feature enhances POI predictability through longer and higher-density strings of fire.
