Extended Mag Release for the Hellcat from Apex Tactical

Apex Tactical has delivered yet another performance upgrade for firearms enthusiasts with the Extended Magazine Release for the Springfield Armory Hellcat and Hellcat Pro pistols.

Extended and serrated face for easier mag releases (face extended by .065″ from factory) and easy to install. Includes the magazine release and a spare magazine release spring.
The new and improved extended magazine release is made from bar stock steel and is fully heat treated and finished in Black Oxide. The Apex magazine release retains your ability to install left or right-handed.

The kit includes a new magazine release spring bar and the new extended magazine release made from bar stock steel that is fully heat treated and finished in Black Oxide.
Before installing this, I noted the improved face of the release with serrations that give your thumb friction and thereby traction to get the magazine released. The slight increase in protrusion and the added traction, allow you to release your magazine on the Hellcat without breaking down your grip – an easier activation of the magazine release is indeed achieved with the Apex Tactical.
Installation was very easy, much easier than the trigger installation, and Apex has a great short video of how to do the installation.
If you have a Hellcat or the Hellcat Pro pistol, you need to check out Apex Tactical and their line of improvements for this great pistol. The pistol I tested this on also sports the Action Enhancement Trigger which make for a significantly better trigger press experience. Apex also offers a Failure Resistant Extractor, an improved thumb safety plunger and spring, a Single Side Thumb Safety Adapter, Frame Pin Kit, 9mm Threaded Barrel, and a Sear Housing Pin Safety.

Installation was easy. The extended magazine release incorporates a slightly longer length and a much improved serrated/checkered face design for easier activation
The Apex Tactical Extended Mag Release for Hellcat MSRP’s at $60 and is a welcomed improvement to the pistol. Check the fit of the gun in your holster after installation to make sure the magazine release doesn’t contact it. No problems in our Kydex holster occurred.
